Hi Carlos,
I do not know freehandEditing but I ran into the same (?) problem with
digitizingTools [1]. It was an issue in QGIS 2.4 [2]. You may check if
the problem persists in current master.

I ran into this problem yesterday in 2.4(i dont remember if i was
working in windows or linux) and I was able to get around it by
suppressing the pop-up window (settings>options>digitizing and check
the box to suppress the pop-up attribute window).
