It is only giving you libraries, isn't it? On Linux systems all you have
to do is install a postgresql developer package. You do not actually
have to set up the Postgresql DBMS or have one available. So all you are
doing building it on Debian (as I have) is having the libraries
available for it
Well, I have both 2.18 LTS latest version, and various editions of
masters, and they all have postgresql support built in.
