I am doing with .shp only and written also in my query as "I have a
shapefile of wells made from .csv table of points".
Only change this time is its projection from GCS long/lat (epsg:4326) to
UTM (epsg:32643).
Processing tool is working fine with UTM projection but 'Raster
menu>Interpolation' is
Try saving the .CSV in .shp and try again. You can use gdal grid also
found in the raster gdal menu and probably processing module also.

Dear List, I have a shapefile of wells made from .csv table of points using
'Add delimited text layer' plugin with EPSG:4326 projection. I applied
Raster menu>Interpolation tool and it gives fine results using IDW method.
Previously also I have used this tool many times with EPSG:4326 projection.
