Hi, Qgis works well with 4GB of memory on windows 7-64 for simple projects. If possible, I would have more that one VM that would be configured with each 4GB of ram and limit 1 user at a time per VM. If your server can handle the load, that would be the best way to go it think. Nicolas > Le

We have several users on the same VM which is what causes the contention for memory Ian On 10 February 2017 at 13:44, Richard McDonnell wrote: > Ian, > You could try to limit the max amount of ram available for each VM, this > would have been done when each, was created, you should probably sta

Ian, You could try to limit the max amount of ram available for each VM, this would have been done when each, was created, you should probably start there! Its under Settings, System, Motherboard and Base Memory, I would say reduce it so as each VM has equal Memory and you leave a bit for the h

Hi Ian, You can limit the nr of CPU cores it uses for rendering: Settings --> Options --> Rendering --> Render layers in parallel / Max cores I don't think you can limit memory consumption with QGIS settings. Andreas On 2017-02-09 14:31, Ian Turton wrote: > I know that sounds like someth

I know that sounds like something you wouldn't want to do but we have a number of users sharing a VM and if the first QGis started manages to grab all (or even most) of the available memory it prevents the other users from being able to start QGis let alone use it. Cheers Ian -- Ian Turton
