You can try QAD plugin. First you have to draw a line at the start point
of your curve using perpendicular snap mode than try the "arraypath"
command.

Hi Danilo,
Have you looked at "marker lines"? Markers are auto-rotated to be
perpendicular to a certain point along a line. They can be placed at
vertices or at regular interval (defined distance). The combination of a
simple marker (line symbol) and line offsets should do the trick.
Hope this
Hi,
there is a method (or a plugin) that can draw lines normal to a curve

Hi,
The QGIS CSV driver support WKT geometry. So I would recommend that you
format your line with a WKT LINESTRING geometry. See
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Well-known_text
Alternatively, you can load the CSV and use a virtual layer and use the
onboard geometry builder expressions of QGIS.
I have CSV files that define line features using Start and End XYZ
Coordinates (SX, SY, SZ, EX, EY, EZ) I get the lines by Displaying the
Start and End points in 2 different views then combining them into one SHP.
Then using Point to Lines I create the lines based on the Feature ID shared

Hello everyone,
I want to change the style of a shape (Lines) into arrows. I thought it
was possible in an earlier version. Do I have to get another symbol pack
for line shapes ?
Any help is appriciated.
All the best

This tool essentially expects you to have your data in the format
produced by polygons to lines. In other words, where each line is it's
own polygon boundary, and as far as I can remember, the line should be
closed (i.e. starts and ends at the same point).

Hi.
I'm trying to use this function and need some help. What are the requirements
for this tool? Does it work for a single closed line? Does it work with several
connected lines that make a ring? Does it work with spaghetti lines?
Thanks,

Hi Martin
I agree - if we aply the patch Ill soft code the apearance properties
in the ui. Ill wait to see if there is general agreement before
applying it.

My patch is a hack that hard codes the color and size of the markers. I
probably wouldn't have sent it at all if M S hadn't asked specifically
about arrow heads.
It would be cool to hook up the gui for formatting point geometries to
configure the start and end points of linestrings...

Hi Stefanie,
I wonder if your patch just allows the green and red dots at starts and
ends or if it would allow the placement of arbitrary shapes as markers?
SVG, in my opinion, handles markers nicely, described at

I submitted a patch to do this a while back, but I don't think it was

It can be done in grass by turning on the "line direction" switch for the

Hi Mark and others,
I don't think this is currently possible in QGIS. But I think that there
is definitely a need for such a functionality. Directionality is
important in GIS and QGIS should some day provide a way to display arrow
heads and other markers at vertices, similar to the concept SVG
One of the outputs from r.flow in GRASS is downslope flow lines. Without
arrowheads (or some similar symbol like that) at the end of lines pointing
which way is downhill, the lines become ambiguous.
Is there a way to draw these lines with arrowheads? Or some other approach
that might achieve th
