This is something that Carson Farmer and I have talked about before. He was
planning on porting fTools over to C++ and into the QGIS analysis lib, and
I was thinking about adding a objects menu with access to the tools, was
also going to add things like Reverse etc.
I noticed that you

*For some specific things there are very good plugins for Mapwindow that aren't
available for QGIS.
