To the best of my knowledge, I have followed the instructions provided and I
got the correct version of exifread [1] that seems to be in the correct place

EXIF.py works from the command line. In my 10.9.5 machine Qgis 2.12 crashes, in
the 10.11.1 Qgis 2.13 doesn’t work but doesn’t crack.

Has you been able to run the plugin. On my side (macOS 10.11.1 and macOS
10.9.5) the plugin is not working. I’ve installed it following Pedro's unix
instructions.
I’ve seen a somewhat related bug in the wiki [1] but there no mac environment
is mentioned.
