It might be because the TOWGS84 parameters are missing in the .prj files, but present in the EPSG definitions for the "Belge 1972" GEOGCS. Either something is wrong with the TOWGS84 definition in EPSG:31370 or the datum shift was not done in NATURA2000__PERIMETRES.shp ? For example (using gdalsrs

Thanks a lot to Giovanni for having checked. I wondered where the difference of behaviour comes from. In fact, when the CRS is set in project properties TO EPSG: 3035, both shapefiles match as Giovanni noticed it. But when the project-wide CRS is set to EPSG: 31370, the shift appears. Here i

Hi, When I open projects saved earlier in QGIS 1.6 with 1.7.2, there is a shift between the belgian data, projected with EPSG 31370 (Belgian Lambert 72 conformal conic), and the european environmental agency data using EPSG:3035 - ETRS89 / ETRS-LAEA. The european shapefile is shifted 103m: X

I would like to draw the attention of the list to a problem that has arisen on the forum, see this thread: http://forum.qgis.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8874 It appears that QGIS 1.7 under Ubuntu handles CRS parameter strings differently from the way in which they are handled by QGIS 1.7 under Window

Dear Qgis Users, I'm using Qgis on a debian testing... and I have installed from the repositories.. Like I have already done with Qgis 0.81 and 0.9, I have created a new projection using this string: +proj=tmerc +lat_0=0 +lon_0=15 +k=0.9996 +x_0=252 +y_0=0 +ellps=intl +towgs84=-104.1,-49.1,-9
