well.. that's precisely my problem..
In the OSX build, in the Plugins - manage and install plugins, there is no
Georeferences GDAL
I can see :
-) GDALTools
-) GEarthView
-) GeoCoding
-) Geotag and import photos
-) Globe
-) GPSTools
-) Groups Stats
-) Heatmap
….
That's the reason I'm thinking
in Plugins--manage and install plugins, check Georeferencer GDAL

I confirm this problem with qgis 2.0 binary from kyngchaos.

thanks for your reply - I'm running OSX 10.8.4 (and installed Mt.Lion version)
I just followed your suggestions right now - I cleaned the /Application/QGIS
folder (related to the night build) and installed a clean one from
kyngchaos.com.
From the same website I installed
GDAL
Ok Larry.
I downloaded GSL from http://www.kyngchaos.com/software/frameworks : GSL
framework v1.16-1
and now QGIS has the georeferencing plugin!

Sorry for the mixup. I bundled GSL in the QGIS app, but messed up the linking
so it still looked for an external GSL. This will be fixed in an update soon.
