All , yes Ive tried the "on the fly" setting but to no avail. I attch a link where I have uploaded the points, the mapping I am using and a google map plot the coords (which is right!). Any bright ideas please advise, I have some other data from another source where I have a similar problem. Please help :-)

I recently recorded some data using my Android phone from site and also received some data from a colleague that when located on Google maps show up in the correct position, but when I bring the data into QGIS, to overlay with my mapping thats in OSGB (80) format they are completely located differently. (Project Properties, in the tab where you choose the projection) After having activated, you should again do a "Zoom to Layer" (in the Panel on left side, right mouse click...) In the example I used yesterday, the raster input was float32. I tested now with a Int16 raster input and found that the problems are even greater. On one hand, the rasters are coming out of the Grid Calculator float32. If that box is checked, then it behaves as expected. If not, well, it doesn't (you'll need to look at the Layer Order window.) Perhaps the issue is that the checkbox is not checked (turned off) by default.
