Use the ELGIS repository. I don't know right now, but I think the Fedora SRPM
should rebuild on RHEL 5 and 6 without modification.

Which version ? If you're using EL5.x then the elgis repo
( http://elgis.argeo.org/ ) has an rpm for QGIS 1.6.
