Yes please, fill an issue (thanks in advance!)
I remember some discussion in the IRC channel or Mailing List
regarding that problem with iterators, so that might be the reason...
I will check if other modules have that problem
Thanks!

Hi Victor,
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the fix. Now for the second case
described in my question, it works well. The results are correct as per the
explanation by Bernhard.
Now for the first case, the results are not correct. Please see the before
and after results from a simple shapefil

could you provide some small dataset where you are seeing that?
Information about SEXTANTE version is also welcome (I assume you are
using the latest QGIS master, but just in case...There is no need to
reinstall SEXTANTE, just reinstall the latest QGIS dev, which includes

Thanks!

I downloaded (now) and reinstalled Sextante.
Unfortunately the results were the same, holding duplicate polygons when using
Union tool.
It is easy to see the dups applying transparency.

Vinayan.
For example, I have, in the same layer, overlapping service areas for urban
parks. In order to calculate available park area to the population in the
overlapping areas, I need to break polygons where they overlap, and
Hi Vinayan,
just some comments:
IMHO features in layers to union should not overlap within one layer
(e.g. landuse is either A or B), so your examples are theoretical only.
Example 1 does not make sense in this respect. Example 2: If we assume
that the circles in layer 2 do not overlap and the
Hi,
At present the union tool does not give correct results in sextante/ftools.
After looking at some bug reports, I feel that even in QGIS 1.8, the union
tool was not producing the correct output either attribute-wise or
geometry-wise.
My question is how should the real output be? I have two cas
