Hi Dennis
Check your dataset for invalid geometry, perhaps also geometry collections
You could export to kml from sql server using ogr2ogr if you are having
troubles with opening it in QGIS

I have googled around a bit, but can't figure this one out.
Have a very simple table, id, geom and state code Multi-poly in the geom field.
All I really want to do is display it and export it to a KML, but as soon as I
add the table to qgis is crashes.. any suggestions
