what operative system are you using?
The new OSGeo4W testing installer of QGIS for MS Windows already ships GDAL
3.2.2.

QGIS 3.16 and 3.18 are currently both shipped with gdal 3.1.4. When will gdal
3.2 be available in qgis? I'm looking forward to the new filegeodatabase index
ability.
