Thank Charles, this is interesting. Unless I am mistaken thought, the
google Earth engine will not give me the images normally seen on Google
Earth as those are proprietary data that we cannot normally use. Google
Earth engine (unless I am mistaken) gives us what is normally openly

Not quite the same as the plugins/ process you mentioned, but you use this
plugin to integrate the GEE python API in QGIS:

Are you using Google earth via “Open Layers plugin”? If so, check and see if
the offset still exists with QuickMapServices Plugin (with the contributors
pack). Is this in the map view or when you do a print via composer.

Are you sure you need to translate them?
You can't just use on-the-fly reprojection?
