[Qgis-user] Newbie-questions for Publishing my 1st QGIS Plugin

2024-04-17 Thread Elstermann, Mike via QGIS-User

Hello everyone,

I am new to QGIS plugin programming. My questions are related to the
publication of plugins in the QGIS Plugin Repository.
I uploaded my plugin "OD_LSA_Loader" six days ago (11.04.2024), plugin ID 3346,
yesterday (16.04.2024) another new version. There was no error message in both
cases, everything seems OK.

Now to my questions:
- Who releases the plugin when or informs me if I did something wrong or if
further steps are necessary?
- Is there still something to do, have I forgotten something, are there still
errors?
- Or am I just too impatient?

Thank you & best regards, mikeE.

Re: [Qgis-user] How to connect qfield to GPS RTK

QField has a settings page for positioning and you can add sources. It
can do bluetooth, and this works well with the SparkFun Express. I
think it can also do TCP ports. But, the question is what device you
have and what interface options it has -- and you did not include that
information.

> 1. Someone knows how to connect to ntrip caster?

I do not believe that QField has any NTRIP support.

> 2) do I need another app on my phone in order to do so?

It really depends on which RTK device you have and how it receives RTCM3
reference data (often called "corrections" even though they are not
actualy corrections). The SparkFun Express can join a WiFi SSID and
make its own connections. Other devices want data injected, with the
phone/whatever doing NTRIP. Yet other devices have radio links,
satellite or terrestrial, to get reference data.

If you have an RTK device which has bluetooth as the interface, and
which does not do NTRIP, then yes you'll probably need a second app.
But then you need to plumb the received positioning into QField, and I
think apps that do NTRIP tend to be able to set mock location (via
developer options), so that QField simply gets accurate position from
the system. This essentially replaces the system GPS receiver with the
external.

But really you need to understand your RTK device first.

(Please keep all followups on list.)

Re: [Qgis-user] How to connect qfield to GPS RTK

2024-04-17 Thread Bernd Vogelgesang via QGIS-User

Hi,

I am not very experienced in this field either, but get my RTK running
most of the time. I use a RTK GNNS from Ardusimple, connected to the
Android device by bluetooth. What kind of RTK do you try use?

I use
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lefebure.ntripclient=en_US=1
as the ntrip client app to handle the ntrip caster connection.

In Android, you have to enable the mock location in the developer
settings and set the lefebure ntrip caster as source for the positioning
data to bypass your internal GPS.

When everything is correctly configured in the ntrip client app, QField
picks up the RTK positioning automatically.

This is what works for me but I have no further knowledge about other
types of devices and connection possibilities so far.

Cheers,
Bernd

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS - Hanging on Windows browser

2024-04-17 Thread Nigel Berjak - General via QGIS-User

Hi all

I am having a problem with QGIS where it seems to hang any time a
Windows browser window is opened i.e. Project Save; Export layout,
Export to any format; Save to Shapefile/DXF etc. (see the image below).
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version 3.36.1 and
using older versions too. I even tried on my 2.18.4, with the same
issue. However, on no other software is this occurring, as far as I have
been able to test, including MS Office applications, ArcMap, ArcPro,
Surfer, Adobe Photoshop.

I have tried removing the Browser and taken off networked drives (these
have never been an issue for me before). As I thought perhaps one of my
data drives may be at fault, I have now tried disconnecting them too.
However, the problem persists.

There were Windows 11 cumulative updates recently, which were installed
(KB5036893; KB5036620; KB5037336), but this is not affecting any other
software.

I am going to try uninstall the cumulative update, but in the mean time,
has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, do you have any
recommendations to resolve it, other than removing cumulative updates,
which I am not sure is going to work (I will advise if it does resolve
the issue).
