Morning all, I might have missed the point (as usual) or even part of this thread, but, sorting in DOS is easy. Open a dos box type sort input_file output_file Done. OK, sorting is based on the entire line in this case, if you want anything different, do this : help sort or sort /? And

I had a jumbled list of words I wanted to arrange alphabetically using my PC but was unable to find a program to do that, so back to QPC and the excellent sort program. Easy to transfer the dos1_xxx.txt to win1_xxx_txt and then run win1_sort_bas using win1_xxx_txt and send it back directly to
