Personally, I'm very happy for being able to use QLAY nowadays, but we perhaps must
think about not repeating the history. If QLAY, uQLx,
QPC or other emulators are what we want to conserve for the future... well, but an
independent operating system of the propietary hardware
would be, in
Speaking of Sbasic... Wouldn't it be nice to avoid 'word clashes' by
following some kind of convention?
Interesting. I've been thinking about the same thing recently. And not just confined
to clashing toolkits. By extending SBASIC in an uncontrolled manner you run the risk
of older programs
Hello Derek,
This is what I tried last night:
Bearing in mind what you said about needing an already existing partition one, the
disk I tried this time is an IBM 6Gb. The first partition is QWA approx. 256Mb, the
second is Linux SWP approx. 128Mb and the remainder of space is one or two LNX
You need to reformat the start of the drive from QDOS Classic, with the FORMAT WIN1_
command - not too sure how you ensure that this does not overwrite the Linux
partitions and I don't have a Q40 to try it out...

I'll give that a try. I'll use the spare disk
Quiet in here innit? Did everyone OD on Guinness at/after the QL show and still

Can somebody enlighten me as to what a Qubide hard disk is? Is it a special hardware
unlike a normal IDE disk and only available from one supplier? Is it a normal

Before that I always got the list messages in the correct order. I always blamed the
bank's move to Exchange...
Ian.
This makes good sense and is a resonable plan for the future.
The only problem with the conversion to C is that it may not
fit into an old machine.
Sure. I envisaged that any project in C would be only as a way forward for the higher
spec. machines, existing and under development. The

Let's try to be reasonable here. Up until now, development of the
sources - ALL OF THEM - was done with the system as described
in the style guide. In my mind, it is essential that, at least for the
time being, we keep that system: if we change tools and sources
at the same time, the
