Folks, very sorry for not pointing out the size of the book.
I found it whilst at work with a fat pipe and did not notice how
big it was.
Hope your father finds lots of other stuff in that book which
will keep him occupired.

You need to read the Sinclair QL service manual at
ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/technical-docs/QLServiceManual.pdf
Which has the pin outs for the DIN connection.
Making the QL end is therefore easy - it is making the end for the monitor
that could be a problem.
