First, I have a perfectly functioning Qmail 1.03 to the
tune of about 20K messeges/day. So this is really a MUA
question, but geez, remember we're talking about
Microsoft here folks, get a straight answer?, unlikely.
So this is a more "have you ever encountered?"
Outlook Express 5 suddenly and
qmail-1.03 with big-todo.patch. dnsip, dnscname, dnsmxip, dnsfq all
return something reasonable. dnsptr comes back "hard error" .
All outgoing remote mail gets "CNAME_lookup_failed_temporarily(#4.4.3)
Can someone at least point me in a direction for how to set up the
debugging?
Thanks,
Bill
qmail-1.03, cname patch applied. SCO openserver 5.0.5
everything seems to be right, but it can't do lookups?
"CNAME_lookup_failed...(#4.4.3)
The program dnsip correctly finds ip address.
Will deliver locally, will receive.
Everything seems to be working, just that nothing is working.
Please
Using the straight script out of LWQ a: script stop
will kill smtpd and pop3 supervise, but not the underlying
tcpserver and then restarting doesn't work becasue the port
is bound.
Here's the run files:
#!/bin/sh
QMAILDUID=`id -u qmaild`
NOFILESGID=`id -g qmaild`
exec /usr/local/bin/softlimit -m
Installing qmail and thought it would be a breeze just
to install daemontools and use old scripts. WRONG.
Could someone point me to some standard qmail-* scripts
using daemontools .61
Thanks,
Bill

The "free" email was swallowing 1/2 my message.
Running qmail-pop3d with LDAP patchs and have just gotten
things working, sort of.
Authorization and denials are working , however, after authorizing
and delivering, getting an error, thusly:
Connected to localhost.

Using Paul Gregg's howto setup Single UID based POP3 boxs.
I can't find what's wrong.
