How to reject spam mail?

I soved the problem I was having earlier with POP3 authentication going very slow (30 secs to more than minute) or sometimes timing out. Server reboot. Not just a stop and start of the qmail-pop3 or tcpserver daemon. Just a plain cold restart. Probably a memory leak somewhere. Jose
