It's not the fanciest, but there is sqwebmail from Inter7. It does handle
Maildir's very well. The URL is:

I also use their courier-imap, qmailadmin, and vpopmail. I have been very
happy with the software and the support.

I suggest that you supervise it and see what happens. AFAIK LWQ does not
reccomend that you use inetd and neither does anyone on this list.
Oops I always do that. LWQ does still suggest using inetd for a a lightly-used
POP server

p.s. I am glad someone took my somewhat sarcastic advice yesterday and added the
qmail too slow to his signature. I read this list every day when time permits
and that very FAQ comes up on average at least once a day, if not more.

on your Inbox files in /var/spool/mail . couldn't you do something like

now I haven t tested this but I would think this or a variation thereof
might work well ..

Nope, I've never had this problem.
You know you're not saying what part of qmail is dying, or what
part(s) is(are) still running. You're not mentioning how you're
setup, what OS, how you're starting qmail, what version of qmail,
whether you're using inetd
Yep, everything associated with QMail dies
including the tcpserver processes.
