the solution is yes mailForwardingAddress does rely on the dot mode and
to stop my double delivery delema the following attributes had to be
combined.
qmailDotMode: ldapwithprog
deliveryMode: nolocal
deliveryProgramPath: /usr/local/bin/maildrop
/home/vmail/user/.mailfilter ./Maildir

perhaps some could also expound alittle on how delivery occurs as i
havent found much relating to this?
