Took me awhile to figure this one out too ... check the permissions on your language file (typically /usr/local/share/qmailadmin/html/en) (en, en-us or whatever language set you are using). mine was installed with permissions 0600 with ownership root, the http server didn't have access to the file

[qmailadmin] qmail and upgrading of OS it current runs on

2003-06-13 Thread L. Nelson Butler
I want to know what impact would upgrading from RH7.2 to RH8.0 have on my existing (and functioning very well) qmail installation.   Do I need to take any preliminary steps outside of backing up the server first in order to have a smooth transition? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

[qmailadmin] Possible buffer overflow

I noticed on the Modify User page of qmailadmin 1.0.15 and 1.0.20 (i'm sure it exists in all other versions too as I havent seen anything about it in the changelog), if you enter a string which is 60+ characters into the Forward To: box, it creates what seems to be a buffer overflow. For example i

Dear qmailadmin list,   This is my configuration line for qmailadmin-1.0.21 (it uses my 'weird'settings which until now had happily worked under qmailadmin-1.0.20)   My config line (in 'my.qmailadmin.config.sh') used handily before with qmailadmin-1.0.20 configuration, used to be in more read

Buffer overflows are often operating system specific, as well as often being confined to specific libraries, and even then sometimes only to specific libraries compiled with specific compiler versions. What are the specifics of the system you are seeing this on? At 11:18 AM 06/13/2003, Eric wro

[qmailadmin] template .qmail file

2003-06-13 Thread Ryan Summers
Perhaps this is a strange request, but here goes... It would be nice to have a template .qmail file that gets coppied into the vpopmail user's directory when creating a new user.  This would work sort of like how useradd takes /etc/skel and copies those files into the new user's home dir. Reason f

Was there a reason you need to upgrade to RH 8.0 ?   Are you mainly wanting to get the newer kernel, or are there other apps from RH 8.0 that you specifically require?   At our ISP, we have a lot of RH 7.2, RH 7.3 and RH 8.0 servers. We have found no need to convert the 7.2 and 7.3 servers to

Speaking of hacks, I did something similar although mine runs as a cron job. It checks for any users that don't have a .qmail-user or .qmail-user-default file and creates one from a template. There's rudimentary support for replacing some part of the template with the username. Anyway, it's
