Thanks, your idea worked.
A couple notes:
I am/was running version 95.2-1.3.30; updated through qtp.
I had daily.cvd (no daily.cld), main.cld, main.cvd and mirrors.dat. Moved
all (that I had) to a new directory, ran freshclam, rebooted and all is now
working.
