Here is what I would do since I have done it while back:
1) backup your CentOS 5.x
2) create a script loop for all your users like
for i in `cat users`; do vadduser $i...@domain.com (mailto:i...@domain.com) ;
done
then rsync your users over and make sure your sql is the same like Mariadb
