I don't why you need an activesync technologies,
most mobile devices and PDAs is working great with QMT
and for push technologies there is already a feature in IMAP called IMAP

AFAIK ActiveSync is mostly supported by WindowsCE- and WindowsMobile-
devices and usually doesn't sync with a mailserver (maybe MS-Exchange)
but with MS-Outlook, and MS-MediaPlayer
