the problem you discovered may be a bug we found 1 month ago.
Do you try to load an image which is outside your qooxdoo Mobile application?
Have a look at bug 8004:
http://bugzilla.qooxdoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8004
Please replace the method "_applySource" inside your framework class
