Very well put. I feel sad for all the people affected by this tragedy, but I am also struck at the differences of the people who will be flying home and leaving it behind, and those that live there and are going nowhere. So much sorrow...

I see that some of those resort towns in that area are advertising and
marketing for tourist to come back. I was watching a commercial being filmed
on a
beach not affected by the waves. The film crew was only about 5 miles away
from where the real tragedy was taking place. Ironic eh?

I was really bothered the other day when I saw some really callous tourist sitting at a bar enjoying a drink while only 100 meters away the "natives" were attempting to remove corpses from the area. It's a free world, but this appeared to be extraordinarily insensitive.
