Yes, a heat lamp does work, but as cautioned, keep an eye on it. I use a
75 watt, red, no closer than 30 inches. Years ago I had the lamp on and
the polyester cover laying over a metal bedrail caught fire.
If nothing else works, I will go to the lamp. HOWEVER:

I got mine at a PetCo but then again, it *is* for my iguana! Sorry.
(BTW: IF you ever *do* think of trying those, think twice! Lots of UVA. I got
a "sunburn" on my arm from petting "Iggy" too long.)
