The Mac OS was installed on a Power Mac, and whoever did so didn't select
the option to install a universal or "FAT" system that can support both
Quadras and Power Macs.
It has nothing to do with the variety of SCSI being used.

It's called the Kensington Mouse-in-a-Box USB/ADB and ranges in price
from about $18 to $30 online. This is the only modern optical mouse I've
ever heard of that uses ADB, and based on my experience with other
Kensington mice, it should be a winner.

One of my pet peeves -- and something a lot of you have probably received
a note about -- is people who quote the entire original message right
down through the footer. The header. The ads. Everything.
I go through each digest, scrolling past screen after screen of quoted
material. It's too muc

In response to some recent issues, I've added the following paragraphs to
the list FAQs:
What about anti-spam services?
We already take the steps necessary to keep spam off our lists. Whatever
filtering you do with your email software and your email service is up to
you.
That said, we take a

Maclaunch is aware of the problems we've been having with digests -- but
hasn't heard back from Communigate yet.
Until then, I've adjusted digest size downward on the less busy lists,
from 20 messages max. per digest to 10 or even 5. Hope this gets things
moving again.

The issue is features vs. performance. I'd hesitate to run 8.1 on my 20
MHz 68LC040 Centris 610 but wouldn't give it a second thought on my Q950
or 840av. Even though Born Again allows it, I'd hesitate to run 8.1 on
any '030 machine slower than the IIfx.

This completely eliminates the need to split hairs over which Mac is part
