7.5 is hfs while 10.x is hfs+ or ufs. if you are trying to take files to
7.5 from 10.x then format drive w/7.5.
since i don't have my beige g3 handy, does the floppy work in os 10.x? A
vague spark in the back of my brain says no.

my 8.8 cd had 2 floppies with it depending on platform or ppc the
correct one was needed to boot. i'll go and try to find mine in
storeroom to verify.

When epson dropped the 740 from its line up i sent them an email. it
appears that they support apple in forcing people to upgrade systems.
About the best you can hope for is finding a used apple, cannon, hp or
epson with serial port.
