Thanks E McCann, the pickle, Mark for your help, Following your advice I checked at a new computer recycler on the Gold Coast. Surprised to find he had a new looking CD Rom, same vintage as the 630, so I picked it up for 15 $ Aus. Will get back to office on Monday and try it.

I have an LC 630 which has given me great service and now I use as a Fax server. However, the CD Rom has just bought the farm. What CD Roms can I use in the 630? Any particular specs apart from scsi? Will the 630 recognise a CD RW? Any precautions?
