Actually, you can have a too free flowing exhaust for a turbo. The turbo needs a certain amount of back pressure on the exhaust to make the oil seals in the turbo work properly, if theres not enough pressure you will get oil leaking past the seals into the exhaust and nice blue smoke. But, as

The exhaust does have a silencer, a powerflow one. I think it's a bit freer flowing than intended though - I suspect the rst engine was a bit much for it to cope with. While it was fairly quiet when fitted, it got progressively louder with time. Enough to be annoying. I'm hoping the diesel will b

I'm sure when I discussed theory with Hamish he basically said as large as you like. Here's a nice article: http://www.tercelreference.com/tercel_info/turbo_exhaust_theory/turbo_exhaus t_theory.html "Downstream of the turbine (aka the turboback exhaust), you want the least backpressure possible

Elliot, I was tested on the IVA just under 1 year ago (on an xtreme), this detail was not required on the plate at the time, but I recall I was not required to give a weight as I had no towbar so this was marked as N/A. I don't have the application, but my report from IVA simply has NO in the tow
