When you strip it or remove hoses be extra careful as when a few years old they become extremely brittle, I’ve broken two and was fully aware of what they were like. You buy the stat complete with the housing, the last I bought was advertised as for a focus, very few listed as fiesta or escort,

It's in the brown/black plastic housing that the top rad hose connects to. Just undo the 3 bolts around the hose. It's a changeover stat (as it opens the outlet to the rad it closes the outlet to the bypass circuit) so don't just remove it. Jim -Original Message- From: 'Mark Alford'
