You have the late "B" type master cylinder, £125 on Brakes

an early "A" type Servo from a Breakers (£ 5 to £ 25) to go with the
master cylinder you have purchased, but the pipe connections/positions
on the cylinder are different
Some Mk3 parts will fit, but suspension etc. is totally different,
there are diffeerent front subframes for different engines, but they
can be modified to fit a Zetec instead of the normal CVH. I made new
door cards using MDF covered with vinyl & used late Metro door pockets
so that bigger speake
My Saloon has power steering which was apparently fitted by new QSC in
2005 , it uses an hydraulic rack with a pump from a Puegeot or Citreon
I believe & makes the steering OK, not too light. I spoke to John
Sampson @ Exeter show & he reckoned the hydralic system could not be
fitted on a 2+2 due t
I understand that to qualify for the £2,000 allowance, you must have
owned the car for 12 months & it must have a current MOT. So that
scuppers most plans to sell something on "project" cars & Mot
failures, so the new owner can qualify for the allowance.

For what it's worth, I feel that polybushes give a harsher ride, but
greatly improved handling. My 2+2 is Polybushed all round & handles
very well ( with a heavy TDi lump), my Saloon is on rubber bushes, the
ride is much better, but it does not handle quite so well ( I realise

Yes it has been on before recently & last year. Due to its distant
location & the cost of collecting I think it is putting people off. In

I believe that the all electric (motor) power steering used in Corsa's
etc have electronic control which reduces the effect @ higher speeds.
When using the Corsa power steering in RWD Escorts etc.a control has

According to Paul @ QSC (Devon) they fitted the Power steering in 2001
to my Saloon, which I'm sure was the year that everything moved to
Devon, if so the Power steering kit may have been around when "old"
QSC wre still in Stourbridge. I will try & pursue the parts used
further, if only for future
Now have collected my Saloon, been in touch with QSC in Devon & they
fitted the Power steering which Paul decribes as electric, but it has
hydraulic resevoir, but no mechaniclly driven pump, seems odd to me,
but works very well.

I need to find a Servo for my Saloon, as the adjuster is siezed & the
pedal travel is excessive. Are there any other suitable Ford Servo's
that are compatible as Mk2 Fiesta are non existant in local breakers
yards.

I still think it's the fuseholder going open circuit under load,
especially if you get 12volts @ the connector with no load, try making
up a "test" bulb (under 5 watts) & see if that lights up.

I thought it was a waste of time, only 4 Q's on the Saturday turned
up, the lack of trade stands was very dissapointing & £10 to get into
the hall for non kit car drivers was in my opinion an absolute rip
