When I put the Fiat five-cylinder engine in my 2+2, it was with the assistance of a garage who provided a letter for the DVLA. The main issue we had was that the engine number was illegible; we had to go back to the scrapped donor and provide it from there, and then DVLA were happy. Neil --

Hi Good luck hope you get it sorted. Just as an example of an extreme engine change my friend put a v10 Viper engine in a sierra cosworth its on you tube he did the exact procedure for that. I know at least a dozen people who have done this so don't be put off someone up there in an MOT station

No it does not need a VIC that is usually for insurance right off put back on the road just an MOT a report from the MOT station saying its done to a standard of road worthy all new engine numbers filled in on V5 and stating them on the report. Then you send it to Swansea. If they have any probl
