These days cars have to be type approved for tow bars. If the
manufacturer doesn't approve the car for a towbar then you can never
install one. An example of this is the Mini Cooper S which I suspect
wasn't type approved because of the position of the exhausts meaning
it wouldn't be practical. I
Hi All,
Thanks for all the replies, most appreciated.
I have the weights from the H4 build manual (which are slighlty less
than the donor fiesta by the way) so I will use those and mark the
towing weight as N/A. I don't have a tow bar so hopefully VOSA can't
fail me for not having a weight there

Have you looked at what the figure for the original donor (I guess Fiesta)
would be?
I suspect the H4 is slightly lighter (if at all?) so it would be a good guide
if the figure for the Fiesta is quoted
In the back of the H4 build manual there are specimen copies of the forms
that were used for vehicle registration. These are shown with specimen
answers to the questions on the form.
The gross weight is given as 800 kg front axle 600 kg rear axle
The train weight box is crossed out.
Pas
know the weight of the H4.
Good luck.

Elliot,
I was tested on the IVA just under 1 year ago (on an xtreme), this
detail was not required on the plate at the time, but I recall I was
not required to give a weight as I had no towbar so this was marked as
N/A.
I don't have the application, but my report from IVA simply has NO in
