Sorry Nigel, the automatic crank sensor mounting is different to the
manual.
The sensor is the same but the aluminium bracket it fits into that then
fits into the hole in block is quite different.

Thanks guys. Thats what Id found too, was clinging on to the slim hope it may
be wrong abd the engine did not have to come out. Have now looked at housings
and are quite different. Oh well guess what Im doing tomorrow. Castle Combe is
looking iffy!!

THis thread states the CPS is the same, but the housings are different
between auto and manual. Using the manual housing should sort it.
