Hi,

Are there any plans to include the acpi-call kernel module [1] in the upcoming R4 kernels ? It's required to set charging thresholds on (relatively) newer Thinkpads, which seem to be used by many fellow Qubes users and developers.

Except compiling/installing a custom kernel, the only "quick" way I've found to set those thresholds is to shutdown Qubes and boot a small distro with acpi-call (I've described that in an old post on power consumption [2]). This method is obviously not convenient and needless to say, not a good idea at all for security.

Or do other straightforward workarounds exist directly within Qubes/dom0 ?

Thanks - and as usual, kudos for the great work !
Ivan
