A correction and addendum brought to my attention, thanks!
1. MAC changing -- Do it anyway, you're more likely to be tracked down that

You can confirm it works by randomizing it

But what I don't understand is how to get the fingerprint of the master key
that I downloaded, so I can compare it to the ones online. The number in
the text is much longer than the fingerprint.

Ok, I figured out the difference between sha and other process and I guess
it would be better to use the other process. I found some good
instructions along with qubes instructions so I will try to implement
those. Thanks.

Yeah, I just want to know how to get the actual SHA-256 of the Qubes ISO.
I don't know how to use DIGESTS. Is verifying the master file and sig
file a different process than comparing the sha-256? Do they provide the
same level of security. Sorry, I know it's a pain bc I don't know much,
I created a t-multimedia template and successfully installed spotify.
However, I was unable to find a working gpg command to "cat" the
spotify.pubkey. (The quebes webpage directs to a stackexchange discussion
which advises a variety of commands, none of which seemed to work on my

than laptops sold by individuals on sites like Craigslist since those companies
buy the laptops from other businesses which most likely only used those laptops
for business purposes and not like for Tor stuff,

2019, there was an advisory about an apt-bug which required a fix. Is that
now taken care of automatically in the deb-9 template or is that procedure
still required?
Phew! From the header ( "avalibel" ) I thought someone was being accused of
defamation. BTW, a very easy way to have a VPN is to download the opera
installer to your AppVMs, keep it there, and then just (re)install it on
boot. A big advantage of this - I think - is that yo don't have to wipe

Hi,
Yesterday I upgraded a hard disk on my laptop and reinstalled Qubes. I
would like to share some problems that I encountered, sorry if some of
them (or all) are already known.
1) Anaconda GUI freezes after few seconds if I have HDMI monitor
connected. Maybe this is related to nouveau,
I have a verified copy of Qubes installed and want to install it on a
second hard drive, so I was hoping to avoid the whole verification process
and just create a usb installer from within the installed Qubes OS. Is
that possible?

Well the issue is the computer doesn't have access to internet at the
moment. I have the sig file, master key file, and the iso, I just want to
know if there is some way to go through the whole process of verification
without the internet, by just checking numbers manually.
