Hello all,

You've probably seen the new draft notifications for the 3 qlog documents
last week [1][2][3].
We've had some good progress nudging towards WGLC this time, most of it
editorial (see changelogs in each doc), but some key points as well that
I'll present next week and already wanted to highlight here.

First, we finally have some initial text for a "Security and Privacy
Considerations" section [4]. As this is a key part of the docs, we would
appreciate some additional eyes on this at issue 259 [5].

Secondly, to exercise the extensibility of the schema, we've created a new
qlog definition for the QUIC and H3 DATAGRAM frames [6]. This is not
intended to be a "real" document for adoption in the WG (at this time), but
mostly a way to show you how extensions would work in the future + to find
extensibility problems. This worked quite well as we found some gaps, and
issue 261 [7] tracks this.

Thirdly, there is some long-standing discussion whether we should add
(basic) multipath support to the main qlog docs. Full multipath support is
(imo) out of scope, but some low-level primitives could conceptually be
provided, as they can also be used for connection migration. What that
should look like is unclear however, see issue 134 [8].

Finally, we're thinking about splitting up the HTTP/3 and QPACK events in
their own documents (currently they're together in [3]). This would be more
consistent with the qlog QUIC document, with the H3 and QPACK RFCs, and
with envisioned qlog extensions, as discussed in issue 262 [9].

These and even more exciting topics in next week's qlog slot @ IETF 115!

With best regards,
Robin
