Capturing messages works as expected: capture.output(message("!!!"), type = "message") ## [1] "!!!" Capturing warnings doesn't seems to work: capture.output(warning("!!!"), type = "message") ## character(0) ## Warning message: ## In eval(expr, envir, enclos) : !!!
