It looks like I had to reconfigure with Readline=yes.
When I installed R I had to set Readline to something and I picked "no"
because I had no idea what Readline was.

I installed R-2.10.1 with Readline=no. Now for some reason R does not
recognize some key strokes like the directional arrows.
