Re: [R-sig-Geo] nearest neighbor 3d point pattern

2013-06-28 Thread Carsten Neumann
Thank you very much Rolf, an enlightening example for me! To my example: the 3D array should be interpreted as a regular point pattern just as a reproducible example (number of points = 11*11*11 / 1. coordinate = 0,0,0.1 / 2. coordinate = 0,0,0.2 etc.). The second point has the same structure

[R-sig-Geo] ENFA in Linx

2013-06-28 Thread alannie
Hi R-Sig-Geo community! I was recently trying to run ADEHabitat ecological niche factor analysis (ENFA) using R in Linux. I did not get very far and would like some assistance on how to make it work in the future. I did the following commands: I installed both ade4 and ADEHabitat on to R in

Dear Alannie, I'm surprised that you have any difference from Windows to Linux, apart of the memory problem... This said, you should consider switching to the new version of adehabitat: adehabitatHS [1], which uses sp classes instead of the old kasc. I wouldn't be too surprised if your

Re: [R-sig-Geo] ENFA scatter plot problem habitat suitability map question

2013-06-28 Thread Mathieu Basille
Dear Michela, In addition to Alexandre answer, it is not advised to use the ENFA to produce suitability maps. You might be interested in the MADIFA instead, also available in adehabitatHS. See [1]. As for your scatter plot, you should investigate your variables individually, e.g. with

Re: [R-sig-Geo] pqR ?

2013-06-28 Thread Hodgess, Erin
bSomething interesting with pqR: I was working through the ASDAR book in Chapter 2. In the accompanying code, one of the chunks said, this takes a long time. I timed it with R-3.0.1 and got 17.28 elapsed time. In pqR, it only took 8.513 in elapsed time. Not too shabby! Thanks, Erin
