[R-sig-Geo] Spatial Join Point and Polygon

Hi geolist, I am trying to add attribute values of a polygon layer to an overlying point layer. But I didn`t find a way to do this so far. I tried for example the pick.from.shapefile command in the RSAGA package, but I wasn`t successful. Any ideas? Thanks a lot TIM -- Dipl.-Geogr. Tim
