Tim, I fear that it must be a setting on your Mac - the default is to show the PDF in-ine in the same window (which uses the Preview engine behind the scenes). I suspect that you must have installed the Adobe plugin at some point (or some Adobe software) - OS X doesn't know anything about Adobe

Hi, In R.app 3.2.0, doing ?function -> index -> vignettes -> pdf R.app requests a version of Adobe Reader. I don’t have this installed, but all OS X users have preview.app Could the help service be coded to either: 1. just open pdfs (that way they’ll be in a stand alone app configured by the u
