Thanx a lot for your very prompt answers. So if I get you correctly,
there is no way
to install R 2.7.2 on Mac OS 10.3.9.
I'll try to uptgrade to 10.4 then, and hope that R-2.7.2 is
going to work.

Has anyone been able to get packages that rely on Gtk2 to run under
Leopard?
I have experimented with the playwith package, as depending on a small
number of packages additional to Gtk2. I can pretty consistently
generate a bus error by attaching playwith, then printing a lattice
object
it will work, but you will have to build it from source, which took me
all day yesterday. I don't know what I am doing, admittedly. It is
easier to use the binaries if you can afford the upgrade.

I cannot find
installations for R-2.7.1 either.
The explanations do not help me. I need the programme for the statistic course
at Uni Zürich.
