Hello, are there any emerald 4 users out there that have made AuthBy EMERALD
work? Is there going to be, or is there already a new module? I've got
to connect at least temporarily to an Emerald database to do authentication,
and I'd rather not re-invent the wheel if I don't have to.
Thanks,
I have solved the problem. The issue resulted from an erroneous line in
the aaa authorization config on my cisco's (along with my rusty
knowledge of RADIUS)
Thanks for your help everybody.

Hello Balgaa -
All of the things you describe are possible with Radiator now.
You can set Time limits as below and use Session-Timeout = "until Time".
(see section 13.1.13 in the Radiator 3.0 reference manual).
For the others, you will need an SQL user database from which you derive the

Hello -
Have you got virtual-templates defined on the NAS?
This topic has been discussed on the list previously, so have a look at the
archive site and do a search on "virtual-template".

Hello Vangelis -
No you don't need IPassPerl, as the new IPass server just uses standard
radius proxy. You will need a Client clause for inbound requests and an
AuthBy RADIUS clause for outgoing requests.

Hello Steve -
What does the PreAuthHook do? Can you send me a copy please? The simplest
thing is probably to have the hook add the Called-Station-Id into both the
authentication packets and the accounting packets.
Also note that you should use a ReplyHook with your AuthBy RADIUS clause to

Hello Anthony -
I will need to see a copy of your configuration file (no secrets) together
with a trace 4 debug showing both scenarios described below.

I am using Radiator with an AS5300. It may help if I could see
your configs (no secrets) and a Trace 4 debug from Radiator.

I seem to be having a problem with a Cisco 5300 / Radiator config.
If I hardcode an IP address into the users file () all
seems to work well. However, if I leave no IP address and attempt to
use the following the AuthBy FILE, debug reports a

Hello,
Do I have to install IPassPerl in order to do outbound roaming
using the new scheme with the AuthBy Radius proxy?

Hi,
We have Radiator
doing proxy radius and inserting Called-Station-Id into the access-request as no
Called-Station-Id is set in the initial access-request.
We
need to add Called-Station-Id into an accounting stop packet for billing
purposes. What is the best way to achieve this? Confi
Hello Andreas -
What you describe should already happen automatically.
Could you please send me a copy of your configuration file (no secrets)
together with a trace 4 debug showing what happens currently.

Hi !
We are using Radiator for IPSec-VPN Clients connecting towards a Nortem
BSN 5000 (Also callaed Shasta).
We are also using a sessiondatabase (MySql) to make sure that a user can´t
connect more than twice.
If the Shasta are restarted or something happens and it reboots, there is
