I kinda suspected you would end up with the same hardware exhibiting the same issues. :( As erlend suggests your issues are not a universal problem for all users, which would indicate not being a hardware problem. My Radio does not turn itself ON or OFF under any conditions including selecting

With SBS running on your computer you can type or paste a direct stream URL and it will play, no online MySB.com needed. Plugins installed within the SBS program then require your player be connected to that same instance of SBS. Plugins are server dependent. There is a small but growing list
